Tourism Excellence Award for Business Organization

This award recognizes a business or organization that enhances the statewide promotion of travel to North Carolina. The primary effort may have been for the benefit of the business or organization but must have unquestionably and materially benefited travel promotion and/or development across the State of North Carolina.

Rules and Regulations
1. That the business or organization be headquartered or represented by a bona fide branch in the State of North Carolina.
2. That the business or organization’s contribution be an apparent service to travel in North Carolina, with special emphasis accorded to the statewide aspect of this contribution.
3. That consideration for this award be predicted on an obvious effort. Although it may have been primarily for the benefit of the particular organization or business, it has unquestionably and materially benefited travel promotion and/or development across the State of North Carolina.
4. That the principle officer of the organization or business be designated as a recipient on behalf of the organization or business.

Additional Guidelines
1. No elected government official, government employee, or governmental agency can be considered for the awards during his/her term in office or employment.
2. No organization whose primary funding (50% or more) comes from tax or governmental sources is eligible.
3. An unsuccessful candidate one year may be renominated for the Award the following year or for any number of subsequent years.
4. No President, president-elect, or immediate past-president or employee of the NCTIA is eligible for consideration during his or her term in office or employment.
